From the most common and daily lives, the characters, made out of flesh and bone, question their very existence and subjects such as love, sexuality and corruption. The language shows us a way in which Neoliberalism settles in the politics of the country. This way, the author achieves an attractive volume of stories that reflects a crucial stage of the development of the nation, without forced lessons or moral subtexts, but only using the historical context as a background that creates a notable balance between literature and history. foreign rights contact Jacqueline Santos E-mail textofilia.editorial@gmail.com -
Antología de Enrique Dusse. La Filosofía de la Liberación
Read moreTitle Antología de Enrique Dusse. La Filosofía de la Liberación Author Dussel Ambrosini, Enrique Domingo; Bautista Segales, Juan José; Colmenares Lizárraga, Katya Publisher EdicionesAkal México Imprint AKAL ISBN 9786078683628 Edition number 1 Publication year 2021 Pages 992 Format Printed THEMA Critical philosophy Synopsis This anthology shows the fundamental thesis of the Philosophy of Liberation as a thinking that arises from a locus enuntiationis (place of enunciation) located in the exterior, on the geopolitical, cultural, economic, political, military periphery of the global South, with an active position in living in a dependent, neocolonial world. As an act of decolonizing rebellion, the Philosophy of Liberation observed in dominated peoples, excluded from modern civilization—and, therefore, from its thought—the opportunity to display a broader horizon than that of mere Eurocentrism. Starting from world history, Dussel situates philosophical thinking from the otherness of the Other, nothingness, non-being, “the widow, the orphan, the stranger” (as Hammurabi describes them in his Babylonian code of law) and the poor, an alterity from which criticism can be made of any system (economic, political, epistemological, philosophical, gender, cultural, racial, etc.) that closes on itself. Dussel is inspired by his favorite authors (Latin American and European, from Salazar Bondy or Freire to Sartre or Heidegger, including Hinkelammert, Levinas, Zea, Ricoeur or Benjamin) and subsumes them in a new decolonizing and critical discourse. The result is not only a new vision of world history, but also new philosophical categories that are refined, specified, as the debates, the years, and the existential places from which one thinks. The intercultural interpellation of indigenous peoples is strengthening the original theses of the Philosophy of Liberation. This work is dedicated in memory of Dr. Juan José Bautista (+2021), who left us too soon, and his wife Dr. Katya Colmenares who prepared this anthology and wrote its introduction. foreign rights contact Jorge Betanzos E-mail jorge.betanzos@akal.com -

Both involve each other: literature invites philosophical reflection and philosophy invites literary expression. The figure of the “philosopher-writer” or the “philosopher-writer” is an exemplary case of this oscillation: Camus, Sartre, Baricco and Proust managed to detach themselves from classifications and produced works that express the silent sense of the world." foreign rights contact Andrés Telesca E-mail andres.telesca@editorialsb.com -

Imprint Almadia ISBN 9786078851324 Edition number 1 Publication year 2023 Pages 160 Format Printed THEMA Fiction and Related items Synopsis Covered in snow, under the shadows that characterize the margins that progress has forgotten to illuminate, and guarded by the gaze of a gigantic concrete helmsman, these two short novels transport us to a cold city in the northeast of China. There, a murder weapon revives the case of a series of murders that went unsolved, and a man drowning in debt decides to show those he has defrauded that they were not wrong to trust him. With a lacerating sobriety, the prose of Shuang Xuetao, one of the most celebrated young authors in contemporary China, interweaves times in which violence and disenchantment are the common factor: a past of social turmoil and rampant industrialization, a present of abandonment and the intermediate days in which utopia was transformed into fierce competition. This volume is the presentation in Spanish of one of the most exciting writings of the Asian continent, a work whose assimilation of the best Western literature shows us that, in the midst of the crudest realism, an overwhelming hope for a future without adjectives can emerge. foreign rights contact Elizabet Osorio Osorio E-mail eosorio@corporativoventura.mx -

Part of it, it is true, but it reaches many other places.
