| Synopsis | This work presents for the first time a critical edition of the complete correspondence of Diego León de Villafañe. In the more than 130 letters that have been preserved, it is possible to observe his connections with some of the main characters of the first decades of the 19th century in the Río de la Plata, the ways in which he took advantage of this network of contacts, his religious projects in the region, the way in which his Jesuit identity endured and his opinions on the numerous transformations that took place during these key years. |
