| Synopsis | It deals with a stigmatized suburban neighborhood of Palermo (Italy) that has been the object of political and urban planning projects. The author confronts the logic of stigmatization to the point of dismantling the images that configure the “strangeness” of its inhabitants, a neighborhood populated by “savages”, without faith or law, submerged in promiscuity and anomie. These imaginary walls, daily constructions of the media and of institutional and socio-political devices, weave ruptures and abysses, crack personal identities and present individual trajectories as failures. |
