| Synopsis | People of African descent, who came enslaved from Africa, were present in our territories from the very beginning of the conquest. Many were able to gain their freedom, others remained enslaved. They were also protagonists of the different processes of Independence that began to be experienced after 1810. Although historiography tends to take away the visibility of their presence, they are still there, and their existence brings us back to a series of questions that allow us to recover the original complexity of those events. |
